Apparently, wayyyyy back, one of my ancestors was actually robbed of a company payroll by a trio of highwaymen who then placed him on railroad tracks. [Link to a PDF of the article]

Awesome historical! And one has to wonder if the Darwin Award caught up with the thieves in a later heist.

Speaking of thieves and thievery, my hubby's decended from Colonel Thomas Blood, the man who stole the Crown Jewels of England....and almost got away with it.
